From accommodations to dining to attractions, this card will save users an average 10% or more at a variety of businesses, and all with no coupons to clip.
Save on Accommodations With the Orlando Magicard
Issued by the Orlando Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, the Orlando Magicard offers discount room rates at hotels around the I-Drive (the name given to the touristy area of International Drive), Universal Studios, Kissimmee and Disney areas of town. With the card, it’s possible to get room rates as low as $44 off-season, with other hotels going for as much as 40% off.
In addition to standard hotels, several condo-style properties are also participating in the discounts, which is perfect for larger families or groups traveling together.
And as a bonus, some of the participating properties also include amenities like free breakfasts or shuttles to nearby theme parks in the discounted price.
Flash the card to gain discounts when you dine out, too. Everything from fine dining to McDonald’s will offer you instant savings just for flashing the card. Some offer a flat discount, while others offer free menu items like appetizers.
Surprisingly, several theme park restaurants, such as SeaWorld’s nightly Makahiki Luau, Universal Orlando’s Hard Rock Café and NASCAR Café, and Walt Disney World’s Planet Hollywood, even offer savings with the Orlando Magicard. Such discounts are rare to come by.
But that’s not all. Use the card to save on nights out with the family at local dinner theaters like Arabian Nights and Medieval Times. Attractions like Ripley’s Believe It or Not and Gatorland also offer discounts on tickets – up to 20%!
Golfers in the group can enjoy savings up to 50% off and families can enjoy savings on nearby boat tours and other fun outdoor activities. Afterwards, treat yourself or significant other to 10% or more savings at a spa.
Even getting to town is cheaper with discounts offered on Amtrak and car rentals by Dollar and Thrifty.
Simply fill out the Orlando Magicard online form and the Orlando CVB will send one, along with a booklet of discounts available with the card, to you in the mail free of charge. You can also go to the official visitor’s center at 8723 International Drive in Orlando and pick one up once you get to town.
Now it should be noted that most discounts are only valid for up to six people in a group, and some of the offers may be restricted during peak travel periods, such as holidays. But considering it’s free, it’s definitely worth having if you plan to spend time in the Orlando area.
